Reviews for "Shifting Sands"

I like the sounds you got going. But 3 minutes is a bit long. You should try to cut it quicker to the change you have around the 2:10 mark. I think it would be a lot better then. But good work! Keep it up. :)

Matt-Porter responds:

Thanks for the insight! A lot of these are rough, especially this one. I agree it needs more of a structure, and less of an improv feel. I might redo these in the next month or so, and I'll definitely keep that in mind. Thanks for the review!

I'm going to be honest and say that I don't know enough about music to leave any form of constructive criticism...but I do love this song. It's going on my work playlist.

Matt-Porter responds:

Reviews don't need to be advice on what's good, or what can be better - musicians love hearing that people enjoy their work. Getting a song on someone's work playlist is awesome for me! I'm glad you enjoy it.

Im really happy with the piece, I was looking for ambient and I got it with this. Also grats on titling something 'shifting sands' and not using excessive sitars! lol

Matt-Porter responds:

Haha, no excessive sitars for me! I'm glad you found the piece ambient and go where I was coming from. The piece is quite simple overall, but I feel it has a great mood, and that mood alone makes it great.

I think it's a solid piece, good job. I will agree with the snare comment, though.

Matt-Porter responds:

The snare was automated, and I unfortunately didn't know how to edit it. I agree though, it's too loud.

Glad you liked it otherwise. - thanks for the review.

This is quite good actually, like for an intense battle that is about to brake out - this suits it quite well! Sometimes the basic stuff is better :) kind of like more is less or less is more (something like that) I write a lot of stories and this is kind of inspiring, thanks!

Matt-Porter responds:

I couldn't agree more! Sometimes I feel my lack of multi-tracking hinders me, but then I get clean, simple pieces like this and don't mind so much :)
