Reviews for "the Last of the Dashkin"

Eh...

I'm positive this review will get downvoted by the fanboys, but it is my honest opinion.

I can't rate this high because in comparison to your past work and standards, this is lacking. In terms of graphics, it just doesn't hold up to waterlollies or the yuyu. The style changed somewhat I guess, and after two years, evolution happens I suppose. If you and others like it, you do. I don't. Or maybe more time should have been dedicated to this. Either way, it just isn't as well done.

In regards to the actual movie, I personally preferred the old type of story line. You say this version has plot where your past work doesn't, but I personally argue that it has less. This movie is simply an introduction, a trailer to the story. Most of the dialogue could have been left out and the point would still have gotten across.

You are still among the most talented people who submit here though. Keep up the good work. My opinion is an obvious minority and I don't expect to be taken seriously. I've never made anything myself and I could be too critical. Most people love it, so you should cater to the larger audience. :)

Generic much?

I absolutely loved the original, and I had looked forward to this episode.

But honestly, is this it?

I loved the free direction of the first, and the raw portrayal of the wonderful fantasy world, and couldn't to see more, but this Chosen-One/Lone-Warrior fantasy crap you suddenly pull out, just completely smashed every aspect of originality and stand-out performance from the original flash.

Sure your drawings are still pretty, you do got a certain talent for animation, and for that i applaud you.

But the whole fantasy story-line thing just completely ruins the protagonist's charm, and all that was so hypnotic about the first one. Now you've made this series: Generic-Fantasy-#Bazillion-onNewgroun ds.flw+1

I'll rate 5, because I can't argue with the audio and animation being above average, although I still think the animation doesn't look quite finished, as opposed to the first. I do think however that the flash itself is extremely vague.

"Chosen-One/Lone-Warrior fantasy crap"? You totally pulled that bullshit right out of your arse.
You know nothing about the plot.. nobody does yet. Previous episodes were told without back story and without character depth/development, so you can't tell me that this has ruined anything but your own shallow expectations.

I have been grateful for low-scoring critical reviews before now. I can appreciate any honest critical review and take it all on board, but I have absolutely no respect for a stupid and pointless review like yours.

What a Crock

NOTE: This was from my old review which was deleted, but I got a PERSONAL HEADS UP from Holla36 that it IS NOT abusive. I don't want some stupid fanboys flagging this again.

There's like... No animation in it. You tossed in some Filters, the animation is way choppier, especially the walking and running, and it just kind of... Disappointed me.

The graphics are pretty much the same as they've always been, which I guess is good. The audio quality was very high.

Here's the main problem, though. You've always used silent storytelling before, making the story unfold on its own instead of leading the viewer on with narration. You should have maybe shown a flashback to the Dashkin or something, or maybe some kind of montage timeline to tell the story. Spoon-feeding it to the audience was a big mistake.

Another thing that pissed me off was presentation. While the animation was several minutes long, you made it seem kind of short. You end it with the line "we're about to find out", which leads the player to believe the entire animation was only the intro. The animation told a lot and a little at the same time, but it was done all wrong.

A lot of people won't like this because there's not enough happening. It's a bunch of telling and no action, which is what people really want. You could have just kept the file on your computer until you had some more aftermath to tack to the back of the animation, and you'd have gotten way more stars from me.

Boooring.

Didint really like it at all. Music were too scottish, and plot was horrible, like it was trailer. Animation on the otherhand was 1st class.

meh

great animation and style, but somehow I did not really like it (not my taste i guess). Still you have to be one of (if no the) most skilled animators here.
