good game

manage to work my way with this game u just have to keep ur eyes open for this 1 thats all... managed to last a good when with 1 section blocked

Eyesight

ok... i have 20/20 vision and this was still very confusing especially the black and white levels which makes it difficult and all which isnt bad in its self.. although it does give colourblind people with a huge disadvantage. but im sure this has been commented on a thousand times. so besides that it was a great game that provided a huge challenge. although did seem quite repetitive. maybe you could add on your next one maybe an altered version of how it flips the whole thing maybe so that they came in from the side or somthing like that. the music was also very fitting

Not for everyone

My main complaint: It requires perfect vision.
If you are color blind, it's useless to try.
If you have bad vision it's useless to try.

Best game I've played on Newgrounds in a while.

I have to say, when this game loaded I wasn't expecting much. Another generic puzzle game. But I was wrong.

The music is great, probably the best I've ever heard in a flash game (though I'm biased to trance). Really suited the gameplay. And that gameplay was great. Fast paced and entertaining. I couldn't believe how difficult it got and how quickly. Made it to level 18, with 53,749 points.

A good game...

...but not all people have 20/20 vision or perfect color vision either. The icons were pretty small and some of the other color schemes were too close to differentiate. Even that said, I was doing fairly well until like level 20ish when the icons changed to hollow circles with barely any color in them. I just couldn't see it.

Other than that I'd say this game is exactly what it sets out to be. The pacing was good, the color changes were challenging, the shape changing was a great effect (especially into stars because you lose track of the bombs), and the gravity shift was interesting too.

The game itself played extremely well. You started out with a very familiar match colors feel, then the levels changed. Every time you see the level change coming up, you think to yourself "Well what's going to happen here?", and then you're met with a barrage of new blocks as you try to adjust to whats going on.

As the game goes on, the wide screen made it hard to keep track of everything, and through several plays it was always the outside that locked up first, which initially seemed convenient but soon made it clear that the lack of extra space just piled things on top of what was still open faster. There was a lot to manage as your eyes scan the game too, which columns need to be cleared quickly, where the biggest groups of like colors are, and where the power-ups are. The scanning patterns became more and more frantic with each level, and especially with the adjustment to the gravity flip.

The power-ups were great too. The bombs were the most helpful if they were in the middle of a huge section of blocks. Using a bomb when it was near the top of the stack though, was just a waste and could have been used much better. Likewise for the lasers, the horizontal lasers were great near the bottom but wasted near the top. The vertical lasers could often be a godsend of a lifesaver, but when used in columns near the middle of the screen, often times broke up more valuable color combos that spanned multiple columns.

Overall a good game, just not fully appreciated unless you are lucky enough to have great vision.

You sir, have noted some of the deepest balance intricacies of my design. I'll see if I can make the next one more vision friendly without also making it too easy in the process. Thanks!
