Reviews for "The Legend of Z-Ninja EP1"

This is really well done for only an idea of a game. People its only watching the graphics but they dont dont see the quantity of details there are in here. Hope this game see the light some day! Cheers!

not bad.

Only one problem. Fix the jump controls. The spike part is nearly impossible to pass because the jump controls are so touchy and she falls off the platform too easy.

Snakex86 responds:

ok now you can control her in the air ... if that makes it easier!

Really enjoyed it!

I thought this was a fairly decent game for being made in 2 days, kinda makes me wish it was a bit longer..

One thing first.. I loved the art, it was beautifully done.

I'll admit the controls for the jumping were a little 'ugh' but after getting used to them it wasn't difficult.. just jump as soon as you land :P

The boss fight though I enjoyed. Having to dash behind after one combo and messing up prettymuch costed you everything I thought it made the challenge fairly decent. Also the limitless lives was nice to.. or I probably would of quit long ago haha.

Hopefully you decide to expand on this game, cause I'll definitely play it if you make another.

Nice, but...

The backgrounds were very nice, with just enough blur to make them fit well. But jumping was a bit annoying to control. If jumping isn't the games strong point, it can get frustrating when you come to jumping puzzles.

Overall, pretty nice. The repetitious sfx got old, but the music and scenery really made this stand out.

Not too bad...

You made a decent little hack and slash game, it runs fine, for me, at least; I haven't experienced any bugs or problems that would take away from the game play. It seems like you belted this game out in a hurry, as the graphics are alright at best, and this is leading up to my next points.

There was no deviation from the enemies; they were too easy to defeat, and never put up a good fight. The trick for us is to memorize the fighting combination they enemy uses, which is a flurry of four to five swings, then a two second pause. With a lack of enemy fighting combination, the fighting gets rather repetitive very quickly. Even the Captain you face at the end uses the same combination, only his combination is sped up. Add more fighting styles to the enemy to keep us on our toes.

The last point also pertains to our Protagonist, as well. She had no combos, but it was the same four moves in random order. Give us a strong attack and a weak attack. You used "D" as jump when the Up Arrow could have been used in its stead. "D" could have become block, and "S" could have become a Strong Attack.

As for level design, running across a flat surface the entire game is boring, especially if there are only a couple of enemies on the certain screen at a time. Change the terrain up a bit; add more to the environment. I know this dealt with a village, this Episode, but, in the next installment, give us a little bit more to the landscape.

All in all, it was a game that was put together nicely, but quickly, and that shows. Not that it is a bad thing, but I know that you can definitely improve on this.

Keep it up!
