Reviews for "Axion RPG"

Well it was nice...

Its a good start for an RPG.
The graphics were fine and the story was ok but it got kinda boring!

Pretty good

But there are some things bothering me not mentioned by other people by now.
For once, I wanted to start as a magician, so I spent all my points on magic and mp, but once I had started the game, I found out, that you don't have any spells at the beginning of the game, and since you earn money really slowly, it takes a while until you can afford a spell.
So, one or maybe two spells at the beginning would be nice.
Secondly, the level up system. It's great that you can spend points at the stat you want to, but only one point per level? But therefor every new level +1 at every stat? In my opinion, it would be better if you could spend all the points like you want to.
Third, when one of my party members was dead, I wanted to revive him at the healing place in the first city. So, I went there, healed my party and went back outside the town to fight a bit. The battle screen appeared, but, though everyone was back to full health, my character was still "dead", so he didn't appear at the battle screen. Luckily, dad was able to use a revive spell on my character, so he could be revived, but if dad would have been the dead one, I couldn't have revived him until I had enough money to buy a revive spell. And since I hadn't found a place to revive dead people, I assume, the healing fountain should have revived my dead party member.

Well, that's all the "bugs" and problems I can think of.
All in all, this game is worth playing.

A fun time.

Although it DID take me a while to figure out how to equip things; that menu isn't very intuitive.

Tips for others: You have to click equip THEN click on the person you want to equip. This makes more sense when there's one person in your party -- but it doesn't help that the highlight color is very similar to the non-highlight color.

The same is true of "Learn" -- but presumably you need to have found or bought a spell somewhere (I haven't yet).

And the way to exit the yard is just to the left of the sign on the back/north wall -- it's a stone path leading up (north).

I don't mind the art; it's not super but it's fine. The combat system isn't any more annoying than any other RPG system, IMHO. I'll be playing for a while, I'm sure. Well done!

Good start

This is a pretty good game on it's own but it loses appeal from various problems. These have been mentioned before; the slow gain of gold, difficulty in getting xp and therefore difficult enemies. Nevertheless if you continue to build on this solid base it could become a classic.

Game functions aren't working.

There is a lot of promise, but a lot of the bugs need to be fixed. The "Learn" command, which I'm assuming is a help function, doesn't work at all. I fought the training dummies in the beginning, but it doesn't allow me to equip or otherwise use the sword I bought. With as much as there is in the game, and tutorial or instruction page would be nice. If it is cleaned up, this game could be great.

jscdragon responds:

Learn is actually for when you buy spell scrolls later.
Not sure why it's not letting you equip, first I've heard of it.
