U LIKIES NO?

You know what? Instead of saying just what I think Blaze looks good in so that other people can see for themselves, I'm going to write an actual review. And I'm going to start with the following words: "More dress-up games need this kind of intuitive clothing selection screen."

It's wonderfully well-designed, the body portions are clearly labelled on the miniature 'paper doll' in the bottom right corner, you can see what your character's going to wear just be hovering over the respective buttons, it's... it's just extremely well thought out in all aspects of design. More than three years later, and this is irrefutably one of the best doll dress-up games I've ever played on all of Newgrounds, if not the absolute best.

That said, while I can think of no ways to ultimately improve upon this game except for minor tweaks and additions to appearance from the neck up, there are still ways that a game like this can be improved upon if an artist is willing to spend the time implementing a specific change(s), like:
giving the player more poses to choose from: with more poses that your dress-up doll can adopt, an artist can focus less on how many clothing options his or her character can wear and answer "How would this look if they acted more masculine, feminine, confident, slutty, et cetera...?";
collapsible menus for larger item categories: if you have a dress-up game with a large array of shirts to choose from, for example, instead of sacrificing clothing articles from other categories to make space in your menu, just list off the available clothing when a player wants to choose a shirt, they can just click on the option that says "Shirts" and go from there; and/or
gender toggles/unisex clothing: just like that, your audience has been doubled... maybe you want a female character that dresses in a way that comes off sort of tomboyish, or maybe you want to see what a male of your own design would look like in skimpier feminine fewer options necessary, yet you can ultimately double the number of looks you can create...

...but really, that's just me going off on a tangent about nothing in particular. The sort of dress-up schemes I made mention of here are more suited to, say... a complex MMO character creation screen than a simple Flash game (unless someone was really so bored that they would draw and redraw clothing articles several different times for different occasions).

In regards to this game specifically, for when it was made and what you can do with it, it is nothing short of perfection. The fact that this game only has a rating of 4.01 at this point in time is a little disheartening, but take it from me: this is pure gold. Nothing about this game should ever change.
