Pretty Good But Mechanically Flawed

It was pretty fun. I played it for over an hour, and got about half way through. I wound up quitting, because the only thing keeping me interested at that point was unlocking the units. I think the game itself is done well, but some of the mechanics need serious reworking.

First off, although I realize the designer had to cut the world up into more-or-less equal factions, those factions had little to do with our current political landscape, and were geographically-based instead. I could see the United States forming an alliance in a theoretical WW3 with Canada, but why Greenland, and why against everyone else outside of North America? This really bothered me because the Military Strength of different countries seemed out of wack anyway. If the Military Strength of various regions isn't going to make sense, at least make the alliances themselve make sense. I'm not sure what Russia starts out with, but it was at almost twice the US's starting power a few days into the game when I attacked. Give me a break.

Also, I found that the game mechanics weren't always explained well. I still don't really know what Military Power equates to in the actual battles. At first I thought maybe it was a multiplier for unit statistics, but now i"m leaning towards it having an effect on how long it takes to produce a unit. In each battle, you're limited to a set type (or types) of unit. It seems pretty random, and is kind of annoying. For example, in Naval battles, sometimes you're stuck using ships, and sometimes you can have air support. On the ground, you may or may not have access to artillery or air support. It's totally random. Since this isn't obvious right off the bat, playing a battle or two and investing in a given kind of unit often results in unexpected losses whenever the game gets around to cutting that unit out of a battle.

Also, it isn't made clear that the "military power" that you attack with isn't the combined power of the regions under your control. I wasted a turn attacking with Greenland (military power: 3), assuming that my "alliance" would actually act like one. Instead when I got into battle my military power was 1/5 of my opponent's. What's the point of an alliance that doesn't cooperate? Since upgrading from Military Power 3 to 4 costs the same amount as upgrading from 20-21, there's not much point to even bothering to bolster your weaker allies. The net effect of this is that the alliances don't really matter -- what matters is whichever country is most powerful at any given time.

In another annoying, unexplained quirk, sometimes you can produce as many units as you want simultaneously, and sometimes you're stuck with one unit from a given type (naval, air force, etc) at a time. There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to this, and sometimes your opponents will be able to crank out units while you're stuck using one or two at a time. I thought it was a result of Attacking/Defending (but trial-and-error proved that wrong) and then thought it was a matter of Military Strength. I quit when my squad of carefully selected, fully upgraded units went up against a country of significantly lower Military Strength and got dominated because my enemy could produce a half-dozen units for every one I cranked out. It wasn't an issue of me using slowly-built units, either -- it was just that I was limited to one per type at a time, and he wasn't. It was very frustrating.

Overall, this game is a fun waste of time for maybe an hour or two, but gets frustrating instead of getting hard, as the mechanics are flawed and aren't explained well. It's a pretty game, but it's built on some very questionable foundations.

Nice than one version

Very nice, you improve almost the weakness of the first one :
1. instead airplane cargo with stealth for super helicopter
2. the ship now fire on true direction
3. all money need to rise military power
4. The base more reality than the first one
