Pretty much sucks cause i cant play it.
The game sucks balls. If you're gonna make a game you have to buy DON'T MAKE IT A FLASH GAME. And furthermore DON'T MAKE IT POINT AND CLICK. A first person shotter would be nice considering you use guns in the game.
I wanna hate you but I would do the exact same thing if i could make money. Im still giving you a half star tho.... bitch...
It's been out for a long time now, everyones kicked a fuss up about the pay to play thing, it's been done.
Kudos for making a 3rd and trying to profit from your craft. Not everyone can make games for fun and free. Even artists' gotta eat. :)
First off, let me say I have no qualms paying for indi games whatsoever. I wholeheartedly support the indi community of up and comers and have on many occasions bought games online.
However I did not buy this one, and I'll tell you why.
I just played 1 and 2 back to back for some nostalgic fun. Enjoying the morbid bloody story and all it's shit your pants jump scares. They both had the same feel and vibe that kept me on the edge of my seat wondering, no, fearing what was going to pop up next and do the oogie boogie to get my blood going.
Once those were finished I looked to see if there was a 3rd. And there was. This.
A quick glance made me raise a brow that it was a demo, the full came at a minimal cost.
Ok maybe worth a buy, payment usually means longer games, better quality games, etc. TO THE DEMOOOOO!!!
Forever loading... Ooo big file. Hopes are high. Read some comments below to pass the time, roll eyes at people complaining over having to pay. Meh. Hear sounds scroll up and get ready for what I hope is a good demo to make me reach for my wallet and grab a credit card to buy the game...
Unfortunately what I got was... (to me) Not 'Exmortis'.. The visuals yes were much the same, granted of a better quality and higher resolution, so it was nicer to look at... But after fudging around for some minutes and click click clicking through the tutorial bit the desired sense of fear and horror of the previous games had completely drained for me.
I wasn't scared, my pulse was normal, and I became rather indifferent to it.
I poked around for a while in hopes things would pick up, there'd be a jump scare to make me recoil and yelp, or a creepy sound to make my skin crawl.
It didn't come. I was disappointed. Other than the name and some visuals/design elements this didn't seam like an Exmortis game at all.
Originally i gave up playing the demo half way through. Which to me is sad because the other two games while maybe not as 'pretty' as this drew me in instantly and kept me clicking for more. The sense of vulnerability and closed spaces gave the previous games a certain feel this one seams to lack (from what i saw) I was hopeful upon entering some buildings, but was left wanting. Eventually I returned to finish the demo, giving it another chance... It still didn't do it for me :(
I wasn't a fan of the 'movement' arrows in this one, I know why they are as they are because of more movement directions and such, but i did find myself clicking in circles time to time. But it is what it is, and Im sure with more play time one would get used to it. The UI was slightly clunky but visually appealing.
Unfortunately, going by the demo - I find myself uninterested to play more and thus will not be purchasing the full version. The writing/story of the previous games were good, and Im mostly sure theres a good story in this game too, but without unlimited funds to spend on games I'd rather buy a game I know i'm going to enjoy throughly than one I already didn't really enjoy from the demo. The game just seams far too different from the previous two for me to want to play.
Looks nice, sounds nice though :D
I know it's years later, but I thought maybe some honest review/criticism would be appreciated amongst all the PTP ZOMG U BETRAY US WHY $$$$?? bs.
