Reviews for "The adventures of M'bnoemnoem"

Holy shit!!!!

this is quite possibly the best fuckin' tune i've ever heard on newgrounds. this deserves front page! it sounds like it could be used in the game dark cloud. bad-ass tune. download and fi5en!

WinTang responds:

Dude, wow! Best fuckin' tune on newgrounds? Well, I'm not one to turn down such as a compliment, though I don't even consider it that great a work myself... I'll admit that it's kinda nice and game-worthy :)
Thanks a lot for your kind words, score and download man, 'tis muchly appreciated!
But check out "Hitler hacks LINUX" if you want to know what I'd fiven myself XD

Not my cup of tea but....

Everything is really gud on this, i love the squelchy synth, a proper throw back to analogue, lots of stuff going on withou anything cluttering the mix, the supporting melody lines are cool and the backing makes for great listening. I don't like that panpipey flute that leads the track tho, tho thats a minor complaint. If that were took away i think you could do a nice remix with this.

anyways keep it up, love hearing your stuff, totally different and really 'outthere'

WinTang responds:

I gotta admit, the "panpipey flute" (as you very well put it) is intended to sound a bit corny, and I do not blame you at all for disliking it. I think its melody is pretty crucial for keeping the song interesting though. It's something to ponder - I may get rid of it and replace it with I dunno. Guitar even, maybe.
I'm glad you like my stuff so, because now I can say "there's this guy named pitters and we totally dig each other's music". Or something.

Okey then....

Nice fading in intro. Those are actually quite rare nowadays :)
This feels very well balanced from a technical point of view, with instruments well chosen.

One part of me says "hmmm there aren´t enough things in this song", but then another part says "sure there are enought things here." I guess this feels very much like some menu-song, or background music for a film that niceley would support a set mood.
So, for a song to listen to, it needs something more, but for a menu/background style song, it´s just perfect!

Hmmm i did find some technical issue you should check out, the balance; seems like the track is louder on the right side. Good thing, first I thought it was my left ear giving in (ive had some problems latley with it :)

Keep it up mate!

My sentiments exactly! Haha! That's why I put this up a little hesitantly...
Hopefully, I will make this into a listenworthy song, and then I'll be sure to check out the balance issue. Sorry for scaring you :)
Thanks for the review!!

Chilled

Has a nice dissonance to this trk. The mixture of electronics with more 'real' sounding instruments works well. This sounds ideal for rpg gaming, I hear it as walking music, perhaps walking through an eerie area in a game that has a haunted forest:) I don't really know what you could add to this. Perhaps a bridge section that becomes more full-on with some distortion and high pitched stabs on an instrument to heighten the tension, who knows....
Nice stuff.

WinTang responds:

Cheers for reviewing, man, whenever I come across a review of yours, you always hit the nail straight on the head, and are very helpful at that!
I agree that it's much RPG-y, Chrono Trigger was a little on my mind when I was making it.
Your suggestion for a bridge section sounds very compelling, I'll give that a try!

Dude, it's a WinTang production!!!

Yeah, you made another song! Sweetness!

-Anyways, this seemed something like you'd hear on a popular Game Boy game or something, but it's cheery and fun. Hmm, maybe you could switch things up by making the intro how you pulled the whole song out to, and it bursts into some DnB beats and the song, and just change around the rhythm of the melody and such to fit that, that would be tight!

-After that, I'm really unsure of ideas. If you need any ideas, go check out my techno songs that I've released and fiven them (optional, but recommended, lol).

-Good start, hopefully, you get some really good ideas!

WinTang responds:

Thanks for the review, but I don't really get what you mean... I'll contact you about it sometime soon, if that's okay with you.
