Reviews for "Daytraders of the Dead"

Fantastic game

Very very fun game. A little bit too dependent on luck though. After all there's not much aiming involved, you're just shooting into a big crowd of zombies. What makes the difference between winning and losing a level often comes down to what powerups you get and when you get them, as they're incredibly strong and you're reliant on them as the game gets harder.

Still really fun though. Reminds of the first PS1 game I ever got: the 10 year old game "Loaded," which is violent topdown perspective shooter just like this. I wonder if this was "inspired" by that game?

Down with the Sickness

In addition to the fun of the gameplay itself, I like the Romero-worthy undertones of sarcasm. Not just the obvious ones, either - comparing daytraders with the living dead is hilarious, but what I really love is how the "hero" of the game is really just a looter like the red-stained white collar bankers he's shooting. For that matter, what does this say about me for playing a game like this?

I will agree that this game relies perhaps too much on luck - but isn't that what the economy is all about anyway? There's no more room in hell. Everybody to the stock market!

EPIC WIN

bus?

Usually, I would just start off by saying something sarcastic like, "This game is great, zombies going wild... haven't seen that just yet." But to be honest.... this is a great game. It pretty much gives you exactly what a zombie game should have, blood, violence... and money! Yeah, basically you're running around, gunning the fuck out of zombies, and stealing their credit cards and golden bricks. As strange, and undeniably stupid as this may seem... it's also got a back story, that I honestly didn't give a shit about, so I killed a million zombies, and stole their money in the process, which was better than the actual plot. I also don't understand how they got rid of the virus by just killing zombies. Wouldn't the virus still be airborne? Whatever...
The graphics look fantastic. Blood and Gore never looked better in a flash game, and that's saying a lot. Sure, the character models aren't amazing... and the setting does get a bit repetitive. But blowing up zombies is just bad ass. Not to mention the power-ups. One problem is that you can't switch between weapons, but you can always upgrade or downgrade your weapon... if you don't want a downgraded weapon... just don't pick it up. Also the airstrikes look awesome... and what the hell was up with that bus? But what really made the difference to me, was the fact that I probably played this game for a good 20 minutes. I guess I couldn't help the over-zealous fun of blowing up dead guys. Overall, Daytraders of the Dead doesn't have a compelling story, and could a few polishing... but it's a fantastic game otherwise. Check it out.

9/10

Good, but short.

I like this game, but it's too short, and too easy. However, I enjoy the weapon and power-up system. Nice job.
