Reviews for "Max Damage"

A nice physics engine but it did get repetitive.

By the time I reached "On the rebound" I was bored. Adding more variation to the objects and not just the balls would be nice.

i think it was funny

It was funny, but max really look like a sex doll. with his wide open mouth and his plastic like skin. ^^

okay game but it's been done better.

I'll say this first I just managed to get through the last level and all I can say is that this game is way to repetitive! the physics don't seem to make all that much sense (it goes from being really low power when firing to suddenly firing extremely fast with out even moving the mouse at all?!?) it pretty much just relies on being extremely lucky or persistent! this game doesn't give me a feeling of achievement after finishing it instead it feels like I probably shouldn't have even started...I mean the last level is simply ridiculous! I went through it a good 200+ times before I got it right (and trust me that's not a good thing) there is a difference between challenging and frustrating, please try and remember that next time! *goes off to find a better designed game to help forget this mess...

squidsquid responds:

I think you are incorrect about the shot power not being consistent, the physics engine ensures the same shot will do the same thing each time. The last level is actually not that hard, although I can understand your frustration if it took 200 attempts.

I had fun.

Nice game!

Some levels I was stumped for a little while, but I eventually got 'em down. All the levels were pretty unique with a certain something you have to do to beat the level. Nice idea with the different fields and all, and different balls having different effects.

But, although I had fun, it's just a normal puzzle game, where you just solve harder puzzles as time progresses, so it gets kinda repetitive, and some people might be turned off by that.

NO MORE.

I think a PSA is in order. Look, just because you have a good physics engine, does not make the game good. More and more people are simply shoving out point and click games with no plot or intrigue. Its boring. I'd like to see a physics adventurer or shooter, or even a puzzler, which you cant claim this is. The only thing that kept youre score from being a zero was in fact the physics engine. Honestly I dont know why these keep getting featured. You seem to be a very good programmer! But get a couple of people together for story, art, and sound.

squidsquid responds:

Why on earth would a skill/puzzle game like this benefit from a storyline? I can't imagine how this could be added without seeming contrived. Why you added 2 points for a physics engine I didn't program is also beyond me ;) Btw - "point and click" in the context of games usually refers to a graphic adventure game (e.g. escape the room games).
