Reviews for "Pixel Grower"

meh

Good concept, I think, but poor execution

Intense difficulty....

I think the reviewer a few slots down has it exactly right...the major flaw with this is that the difficulty always stays one step ahead. You can never completely catch up, and it just becomes frustrating/impossible after a relatively short time. Its fun early on and the concept is good, its just that the difficulty takes away form the fun of it.

average...

was kinda addicting until i got to level 4 and then everything you had to do was waving your mouse (didn't even had to look and at the game)
level 8 was really annoying...had to play it for 15 min i think and finally level 9: i have no idea how anyone could beat that (you don't even see the pixel cause they're way too small and too fast) and got a score of 51.171

music and graphic style were ok i think so i give you an average score

Difficulty issues

I noticed something peculiar after playing for a while. The wider my 'tree' the wider the range the pixels fell (starting from a thin stream to a wide torrent) and the longer I stayed on a stage, the range widened and the rate/speed increased. This creates an impossibility factor that makes it very difficult to move on after a given point.

Example scenarios/generalized situations:
1. You focus on widening your 'tree' but you are unable to do so quickly and are overwhelmed by the widening range.
2. You successfully widen your 'tree' on level # but when you start level #+1 the range and speed overwhelm you.
3. You decide to rush each stage and get to the goal as fast as possible leaving you with a relatively thin 'tree' and eventually you are overcome the range and speed of the falling pixels.
4. You have no problem until you find your 'tree' a tad bit slow to respond to you movements. (this scenario has nothing to do the previously mentioned problems, I am just addressing another issue)

Everyone will succumb to a single, combination, and/or variant of my scenarios in a short time leaving the player unsatisfied and/or frustrated (unless you are that epic, of which I am not). The speed and difficulty of the game is a too high for the type of game it is. Deal with the impossibility factor and you'll have a fantastic game.

Jesus

When it gets to level 5, it gets a little out of hand and you end up shaking the mouse back and foirht as fast as possible to pick up the pixels.

However, it is an addicting game and hope to see a sequel (which will be easier)
