Reviews for "Toxie-Radd"

Nice

Well, the shotgun, machinegun and armor-piercing seem a bit useless( and the bashing attack), since most of the time I just burn or electrocute enemys to death. The problem with too much waves...well, it's already been mentioned.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, but appearrantly, the barrels can conducts electricity with out being damaged, so if you buy lot's of barrels and maximize the electro spread range, you're basically invincible.(The current just jump back and forth between the barrel and the enemy until the enemy get killed.)
Another thing I'm not sure if it's a bug is, that you would get backfired by the current if it killed an enemy and ended up flying towards you.

Reminds me of Endless Zombie Rampage(1), but the progress is faster.
Over all, I like it. 4/5!

Finally, I got a question... is the menu music really performed by MasterCastle? I didn't find this song in their album "The Phoenix".

Xplored responds:

Thanks for your comments! Really!
THe "bug" you found is not properly a bug but I'd call it a very strategic way to face the challenge of the waves. I guess almost nobody used your keen strategy of making barriers with barrels and using the lightning gun as weapon passing through.
...at least, I've to admit, no one of our tester ever did it and we never thought it! :-D
So, please, send us a private message to open a direct contact with us in Xplored in case you'd like to betatest some of our newcoming game before their publication. :-D
Regarding MasterCastle music for the game, you are right. WHile in DarkBase 2 we used a song of their last LP, on Toxie-Radd they did dedicated songs following our style request.

Good game but looong end

Hi Dude !

First of all, your game is cool. I play all the game and have fun.

But the end and the 20 waves are really too long. I was bored after the second wave but after the 6 i just quit, too long to kill to few zombies.

So the games is cool, have some bugs (a immortal zombie for example) but it's a good job.

Keep going !

And they say mutated creaters are scary. Ha!

When I started to play the feel of the game reminded me of a mixture of Half-Life, F.E.A.R and a bit of Doom. I don't know if that was your intention or not but I found it to be appealing. The game had some good, but not great, graphics. I also enjoyed the music; it added a "BRING ON THE MONSTERS!" feel when you were about to face a boss.

I didn't read the game description that you provided before I started so once I beat the 3rd level and saw the little cut scenes I was left with a puzzled look on my face. "That's it?" It seemed more like a demo than a real game. The game was short with a very small range of weapons/upgrades and monsters. The fact that the game was also slow paced didn't add to anything especially during the survival mode at the end. Around the 5th level of the survival mode I got bored to the point I wish you had added some vial that you could use to attract all the zombies to you just to increase the excitement of the game.

Another thing that you should like into are the glitches. The most annoying one was that everything seemed like a damn obstacle to get around. There were times when I was walking around I would stumble around some things on the ground that would prevent me from moving. Also I found that randomly the flamethrower and the lightening gun would start to kill monsters in another room. I would shoot forward and the room behind me had monsters being killed by either my flamethrower or my lightening gun. (Not that it's a bad thing.)

This was a good start for a game. Adding more variety to the games guns and monster wise would dramatically increase the game play. Add a more levels and few more harder bosses and you might actually see a good game here. Also making the game play more faster would be good. Keep up the good work.

Pretty Good, But...

1) Stuff gets covered by dead bodies, so you can't see it, and get stuck on it.
2) The zombies never get tougher, there just gets to be more of them, which doesn't matter once you have the flamethrower/lightning beam.

Difficulty progression is all wrong

I give it an 8 because it did get me hooked for the first 3 levels, then as everyone else has said it just got boring. One other thing that was inappropriate was that the first level is by far the hardest because the shotgun and the armor piercing guns suck, and the machine gun is marginally good at best. Then, when you get the ft and the lg, it becomes far too easy. Solution - improve the 3 original guns and require ammo for the last 2 without cooldowns.
