Reviews for "Toxie-Radd"

just a few tweaks would make it really good...

It held my interest until wave 4 of the final arena and then it just seemed too slow and too easy. Here's some changes I'd recommend:

1. Instead of 'X' for bash, make it the 'R' or 'F' key -- it's awkward to press 'X' in the heat of battle while using the WASD keys. Or, even better would be, click on the player to melee. Or how about this: click and drag on the player's arm to manually control the swing?

2. Reduce the number of health kits dropped or reduce the amount of health it gives... it made it a little too easy. Especially later on, there were like 4 health kits I didn't need to use.

3. Which leads to... the player is too strong, or rather the enemies are not strong enough... the challenge drops rapidly. Of course, this is on the medium difficulty, but still.. for medium, that's too easy. So a few adjustments there would increase the challenge. I think if you just made some of the enemy attacks stronger that would be enough.

4. Speed up the rate of zombies spawning for the wave attacks at the end, it was way too sluggish... and maybe make it 10 waves instead of 20.

Good job otherwise, keep it up!

Pretty Good, But...

1) Stuff gets covered by dead bodies, so you can't see it, and get stuck on it.
2) The zombies never get tougher, there just gets to be more of them, which doesn't matter once you have the flamethrower/lightning beam.

And they say mutated creaters are scary. Ha!

When I started to play the feel of the game reminded me of a mixture of Half-Life, F.E.A.R and a bit of Doom. I don't know if that was your intention or not but I found it to be appealing. The game had some good, but not great, graphics. I also enjoyed the music; it added a "BRING ON THE MONSTERS!" feel when you were about to face a boss.

I didn't read the game description that you provided before I started so once I beat the 3rd level and saw the little cut scenes I was left with a puzzled look on my face. "That's it?" It seemed more like a demo than a real game. The game was short with a very small range of weapons/upgrades and monsters. The fact that the game was also slow paced didn't add to anything especially during the survival mode at the end. Around the 5th level of the survival mode I got bored to the point I wish you had added some vial that you could use to attract all the zombies to you just to increase the excitement of the game.

Another thing that you should like into are the glitches. The most annoying one was that everything seemed like a damn obstacle to get around. There were times when I was walking around I would stumble around some things on the ground that would prevent me from moving. Also I found that randomly the flamethrower and the lightening gun would start to kill monsters in another room. I would shoot forward and the room behind me had monsters being killed by either my flamethrower or my lightening gun. (Not that it's a bad thing.)

This was a good start for a game. Adding more variety to the games guns and monster wise would dramatically increase the game play. Add a more levels and few more harder bosses and you might actually see a good game here. Also making the game play more faster would be good. Keep up the good work.

Average

I don't really see much different with this game and any other top shooter on this site. The graphics were decent and the game play was alright. However, it got boring before the end of the first level. The gun overheats much to fast, and the zombies seem to have a much longer range than you. Still, its worth trying for a second.

Nice game but,,.,

Cool game but 20 waves at the end with increasing number of zombies to kill is way too long
