A tale of two halves.
The first half of the animation was brilliant. Crisp, smooth animation and the use of motion blur really made the scene high-octane. Nothing overly amazing, but I was entertained, nonetheless.
However, and it is a big however, the second half (i.e, the "humour") was pretty poor. The animation took a massive slump in quality and the so-called joke was unfunny.
Pros:
- Fantastically scripted action scene
- Use of motion blur was impressive
- The lightning effects were good also
Cons:
- Poorly animated second half.
- The humour was off.
I'd like to see a full-blown Pokémon action series from you, it'd be pretty good to watch.

Excellent animation, love the nerdy references
I liked the flash animation.
Pokemon is a guilty pleasure for me... I even pull out my old vhs tapes at times, and I can still remember going to see the first movie (and the only movie I've ever seen) in theaters. It was a good thing back in the day and now it is just over played, but I liked having those flashbacks and I thank you for this.
Your action vision is quite good... you coreograph the fight well and you executed the animation with near perfection! The nerd in me giggled uncontrollably at the old-timed Godzilla screech that came from Onix. Very nice touch....
All in all a good submission for Newgrounds.
