Reviews for "Shopping City"

ok but not all that

it wasnt all that but it was ok good game though hahahahahahahahha it would be worth a replay

funny game

pretty fun game

Good idea.

Quite a fun game that made you think about shop placement, but in some of the later levels you could just bunch shops in one area leaving the rest of the map relatively untouched.

Some suggestions:
1) Quality option. Even in "fast mode" the game would slow right down when too many customers were on the screen.

2) Freeplay mode. Either for practice or unlocked after completing the final level. No goals or time limits to see what you can build.

3) Distraction variation. Customers spend different amounts of time at newspaper stands, icecream etc so they don't always leave in the order they arrived.

Addictive, fun but has flaws. Underrated!

The review below by Decontain was bang on. There were many things that I discovered simply by trial and error which should have been in tooltips. For example, you can avoid spending up to repair a building by instead upgrading it. It costs more, but has added benefits.

The best strategy changes throughout the game. Early on it is wise to build and upgrade a combination of pet stores and boutiques. Later, you begin a level the same way, but then include jewellery stores, and upgrade them. Then just fill up the spaces with supermarkets, night clubs and computer stores, and phase out the boutiques.

I disliked how if you didn't pass a level, you had to start the whole thing again. I was lucky enough to pass most of them first go, but like Decontain, I just fell short on the final level, after what seemed like an eternity, and I would have like the option to go back to the middle of that level, and make changes from there on.

However, I must make clear how fun and challenging this game was when I stuck at it. I don't understand why the rating is only 3.71, it deserved much higher.

Great game!

Great and challenging game! But has a few MAJOR flaws, and a few smaller problems

The structures are generally not balanced. This makes the restaurant and toy store absolutely useless in my eyes, while the jewelry shop is SUPERIOR when it comes to bang for the buck. Computer/night club/supermarket is in my eyes mostly "filler" structures, only useful after you force the people through all the levels of the jewelry shops.

The repair system could be greatly improved. To suddenly have to spend 60k to repair a structure when saving up for a supermarket upgrade is BRUTAL.

I didn't really find the benches and such useful during the later levels, they should perhaps be revamped in a sequal to this game.

I missed some better tooltips. How long will the customer stay in the store? How will the upgrade affect the income/effective capacity? That would be very helpful when trying to build the city as efficient as possible.

The difficulty was a little high. It didn't really bother me too much (since I love challenges). But spending 30 minutes on the last level, only to get 98% is annoying. Perhaps you could make a medal system, which will open up some new levels when you get enough gold levels.

All in all... GREAT GAME! Can't wait for a sequal (which would have to be some levels longer). Keep up the good work
