Reviews for "cityscape"

nice

i love the way you only used black and white. the design of the buildings and water is 10/10. i also like how the buildngs look like the buildings you see when your gong to newbury stree

CptBeefcake responds:

thanks, I have no idea what newbury street looks like but I'm glad I captured an image.

Very urban, very cool

Urban, gritty, tough. I love it. I love the city.

Another great piece

It's a shame you didn't add any dialogue too this piece, but it's still very good. Another great concept, idea and artistic view on the world. Definitely not one of your darker pieces by far, but still holds your style. Well done.

CptBeefcake responds:

this was done far before any of the others; the designs you see in this one inspired the ones in the ink paintings

Actually, I personaly like this piece.

I like how it seems theres portals to different views of the cityscape, as if your looking from an abstractive space to the gritty, cold buildings and skyscrapers ahead. A great sketch to behold.

CptBeefcake responds:

thanks

Nice

Love the darkness and contrast... Looks dirty like you said.
It kinda looks like you're in some kind of lonely structure out side of town, and looking at the city as if your life would be better if you were there... A pretty sad drawing in that way IMO. :(
The buildings on the right don't seem to fit in though... So I'm not sure of what's going on.
Awesome style A+ for that. It's a cool drawing!

CptBeefcake responds:

The change in light and mood is pretty unnatural in the right corner, I never really shaded in the same darkness I did with the other buildings. I should probably do that but right now I'm too lazy. I could say that the contrasting elements add the the flow of the picture but I'd be lying, they don't.

thanks for the helpful words! lots of my works are somewhat abstract, I'm not sure what meaning they have but feel free to impose your own meanings
