Reviews for "Demon's Rebirth"

AWESOME track bro! great dynamics and the leads have a osft but still powerful sound, like the guitars are really singing and not being played :D Love the riffing @ 0:43 & 2:12 you know me, love me some riffs YEAH! the riff chord progression @ 2:25 with the mysterious choir backing gives the cinematic feeling of the description. Just love the top synth hits that are on top of the riff @ 0:56 & 3:15. so this track will give ANYONE METAL UP THEIR ASS!

DanJohansen responds:

Thanks for the in depth review bro! METAL UP THE ASS!!

This is AWESOME!!!

DanJohansen responds:

Thank punk, ROCK ON!!

I needed to make a profile just so I could rate this. This is awesome work. The main riff is varied enough to where it keeps that chuggin head banging feel while being an intricate and interesting riff. Also that part at 0:44 is Symphony X badass tier. Very awesome and metal song.

DanJohansen responds:

Honoured that you would make an account for this man, appreciate a LOT, ROCK ON!!!

I'd like to throw some really gnarly ominous vocals down on this. I laid down a track for one of RobSoundTrack's EmberCore. I loved the feel of this! Nice and epic. Great energy felt very midevil and dark. 5'd it

DanJohansen responds:

Thanks man, glad you dig it, if you want to try that for fun, do it man! And let me hear it afterwards haha

It's not bad...BUT it isn't quite 10/10 material. ALMOST but not quite. Most of the issues stem from the inconsistencies overall. This has more of a nu-metal/prog-metal feel to it, but the actual musical notions, with the sweep arpeggios and the augmented and diminished licks put it out of touch with either or. The easiest way to rate this would be to compare it to Iron Maiden... hear me out. A LOT OF WASTED POTENTIAL. I mean that in the nicest way possible, as a death metal musician myself. The drums were too biased to the 4/4 and 6/8 time signatures, if you would have thrown in more 1/8 or 2/8 (Thrash- or Speed-Metal flavor) to it, and even like cut out the guitar (or drums) for like two or three seconds and done like a single-instrument bridge (literally, for like TWO or THREE, maybe even FOUR seconds) It would have sent it over the top (13/ or 14/10 over the top!). Also you should have done the guitar harmonies with a minor or a augmented/diminshed voicing. When the harmonies have a major voicing it makes them sound like spider or power chords, they also sound, dread I say it, synthetic. IF THEY ARE... GO BACK AND TRY AGAIN, and put in some more hours! Otherwise, if not, disregard that statement, and keep workin' on it. Solid 7.5/10! I see a 12/ or 14/10 in the future if you keep it up.

DanJohansen responds:

Hi man, thanks for taking your time and writing such in depth review about your thoughts etc.
But to be honest, I just make what I want to hear myself.. while your ideas might have turned out to be good or better for you, it just doesn't fit my vision of the track at all.

Also I don't think the tune even touches the Nu-metal genre and the leads being a bit thrashy on a prog metal style riff is fresh to me, not out of touch. I am not a genre purist when I compose to be honest, and I don't force time signature changes if I feel I am doing what I envision.

Anyways, respect your opinions, but I disgree.. but thanks and glad you dig the tune man! ROCK ON!
