Reviews for "Loss of Me"

Nice n Clear

The Clarity of the music was excellent. The diversity of your musical tastes are..interesting lol. Good work

Love-Hate-War responds:

Haha!! I get that alot "a metalhead who writes classical music?!?! What what!?" But i try not to be narrowminded, i try to write in as many styles as possible so everyone can enjoy my music. Thanks again for all the kind words!!

Wow.

This is quite an arrangement you've done; knowing what the original is like (which I love anyway), this is a superb remix. It sounds SO mediaeval too. If I had to criticise something, I think the melody gets a little lost after the halfway point, blurring into the background of the other voices a bit, but it's so good overall you get away with it :).

On FF pieces for school, I played the FFX intro theme for my AS-level performance; my teacher buggered up Uematsu's name on the tape!

Love-Hate-War responds:

Haha, i can never say his name, let alone spell it. Yeh it's one of my favourite songs from the game, i didn't wanna go for the obvious FF choice this time round. Thanks for the good words!!

Fair Dues

Don't normally review audio files, but hey, it's 5:00am (almost) and i'm feeling like taking a break and writing something different.

Well, clearly 'Rose of May' based, but is indeedy an interesting new take on it. I'm not upbeat on the jargin of the audio world, so I won't even try to use fancy words like 'contrabass' or 'sub-alto-whatchamathingy' or even the word 'tune' in this review.

All I can really say is that it's nice to finally hear a decent remake of this piece. Usually all I hear are near identical remakes (which are boring) or half assed MIDI attempts that frankly should be physically torn out of the internet and publicly flogged.
For what it's worth, the added umph given by the brass and snare drum is pretty effective in breathing much needed new life, without compromising on the musics original intent.

Good marks for you. Keep'em comming.

Love-Hate-War responds:

Thanks for the review man! This was done for a piece of college work, we had to take a melody or theme from an already exsisting song, and change aspects around it. So I went for the more medieval sound, with the flutes, harpsichord and tambourine. Then I went for a more marching military sound with the timpani and marching snare. Glad you liked it!

Well, it's good...

It is good... pretty good...

Love-Hate-War responds:

...constructive...
