Reviews for "PlayBall"

One month and a week, huh?

I'll say, this is quite impressive for your first ever Flash. It feels technically solid, and designed quite well for a beginning game developer.

A gripes I have with the game is the curve. The second tutorial stage took me longer to complete than practically the rest of the tutorial series, combined. You don't need to make it that difficult to complete to emphasize the fact the progress bar decreases over time.

The graphics are also quite good for someone of your skill level. Everything is fluid and it works well. The trail the blue ball leaves behind is shiny and entertaining at first, but I found it to be quite annoying as the tutorial course went on. Personally? Too much confetti.

I haven't given it enough time to warrant a full critique (I stopped at Easy-2 as of this writing), but I will say I'm impressed, and I'm looking forward to complete this game when I have some more spare time.

Great first game!

Pretty good game, but you should make it easier. I made it to level 8 on the medium stages, and I would expect to at least be able to make it to the hard stages.
Also you should think about adding some power-ups, for example something that turns off the fields, makes you invulnerable to red balls, prevents your progress bar from decreasing, etc for a certain amount of time. Those could come from time to time instead of a ball or you can make a point system, so you could buy these in-between levels (or just make some levels where you start with some powerups you can activate during the level)

well done for a first game

but you present the tutorial as if we're all retarded 10 year olds.. instead of showing a ridiculously tedious tutorial, just introduce the new features on the first level that incorporates them. this way the game moves at a faster pace and keeps the attention of the player

the game moved at a way too slow of a pace for me to stay interested very long, but i did get to the tutorial level where a blue and yellow circle overlapped.. i noticed that instead of canceling each other out or becoming a green zone (blue + yellow = green :D), the yellow seemed to dominate the area.. you may want to look into that (and other overlapping colors)

it looks like you taught yourself a lot in making this game, so nice work

Not too shabby

good basic design. physics can be odd at time but overall good, the colorful regions were a nice touch too. like it.

Generally...

Quite an inative game, the thing that won me over best was the retro style music. coolio !!!!!!!!!!!!! ^_^
