Well, this is certainly an enigma. It seems like a boring day, where a guy meets a girl, and she gives him a gift. But at the same time, there is just something captivating about this work. I just feel... I guess "lighter" would be a better word, though I'm not sure how. I can't NOT give this a 10. There are very few flashes out there that make me feel the way I do right now, and those have been "The Composer", "Do us Part", and this. You have joined an elite circle within my favorite flashes. You do Newgrounds proud. It's flashes like this that make it really worth coming to this site, because you really can't find a flash like this anywhere else. Thank you.

Also, I believe I have identified the runes: they're dwarvish, from Lord of the Rings, am I right? Anyway, I say again, Thank you for making such a movie.

There Is More To This Than I Can See

I love this animation, but beyond the beautiful artwork and the peaceful, inviting way the film is directed, there is something to be learned from this. Something I can only half-decipher.
He is said to live an ordinary life, and he so casually steps onto a train that's... well, a dragon. This is normal, for him. Then he meets a girl, and suddenly the quiet rainy day's turned into something special and romantic. True, there is something magical about this girl as well, but it makes me think... We could ascend to any level, we could create a world that was blindinly fantastic, a dreamworld, and yet there is something about romance, in even the simplest and most innocent form, like a stirring in the presence of a stranger, that will shake us, warm us, or inspire us. What is it about romance that pales every other experience we encounter?
This film certainly gave me somethin to ponder tonight. What's more though... I think I'll be in a different mindset the next time I step out into public. Maybe I'll see in potentials, in exeriences waiting to happen, rather than in simple passing imagery. The world is deeper than we make it.
I guess the bottom line here is that this animation found its way to being very touching to me. I really enjoyed it, and it had a very real effect on me. A good one.

I can't express to you how happy your review made me feel. It has lifted my hopes in that there really are people out there who truly understand my animation with all its symbolism. Not only did I try to express what you have already noted, I also tried with this version to instill in others that there is always hope, that there is always a light at the end of the darkest tunnel. It may come to you by a friend, a family member, or even a passing stranger. Yet not only that, you, as a person, can be that light for another... if you see a person trudging along day-in, day-out, you can make their life a little bit brighter if you believe in them.

realy great video. origional concept. i think the message has somthing to do with hope.
the letters on the train are nordic letters, right?
