Reviews for "Madness425 Owns 2"

Wow

Where do I begin? I'll try to keep this review short since you apparently don't have the time to read anything more than a few paragraphs in length. I'll also try to keep it as kind as possible. First of all: You acknowledge the choppiness, however you posted it without improving it? No one is waiting for you to release it, you got all the time in the world. Take your time, the end result will be much better.

Secondly: The transitions are awful. One moment the protagonist is outside, the next he's inside. I'm sorry but what? That's just flatout inconsistent. Thirdly: The guards apparently must all be stoned, because they hardly react to the protagonist firing at them. Fourth: The music is pretty damn unfitting.

Finally: There is no story, it's just some random protagonist fighting a bunch of generic guard antagonists with no background story other than he's in a room and there's a bunch of guards he apparently has to fight for no specific reason. It's just another generic, plotless, half assed animation you clearly didn't put much effort into. Then you're going off being arrogant, labeling any criticism "spam". What? Those are the people who are trying to HELP you improve and you just tell them to "fuck off" or come up with excuses? Then you go off saying "thx" to those who give you 10s for no reason. I hope you realize people like you are the people who are destroying madness and making everyone think nothing but shitty animations come from it.

Sifter1337 responds:

Yes, this is one of my shitty animations.

ProTip: This isn't Spam, read it.

Well first off, your little list of review qualifications pretty much leaves no room for criticism. So you're pretty much telling us that you would like to hide from constructive criticism, which also means you want to hide from becoming a better animator. Also, you should go look up the definition of "criticism" maybe then you'll realize how silly you look telling the reviewers to take criticism. Also, I'm pretty sure that if you knew all of this stuff you claim to have addressed in the author commentary, this movie would have actually been good.
Alright listen up, when someone tells you something like "Oh that scene made no sense, the animation is choppy, try to animate the feet more lifelike" that is not saying "You fucking suck go die god damnit I hate you". It's telling you how to improve your flash, if you want to get better at animating the easy way, then pay attention to the negative reviews more often the the positive ones. Coming from the heart, I can say that anyone who gives a review above 5 on this movie is a complete idiot. Those people are pretty much telling you that what you're doing is good and to keep doing it. Which ultimately boosts your ego and leads you to learning how bad of an animator you are the hard way, the way I did, involving a huge emo depression and a bunch of shit that would be easier just to not have gone through. So if you don't want to improve the easy way, then stop reading here and good luck in the future when you get even more negative reviews like this and you react like a 4 year old throwing a tantrum.

So first and foremost, I see that this is yet another random violence movie. It starts off in a random ass place where an un-named protagonist is faced with a bunch of unoriginal guards. Very bland already. The main character is terrible, no originality at all, it took absolutely no imagination to make him. It didn't even look like you tried, everything is the same. On a rare occasion, a movie with no plot whatsoever can be accepted, that occasion would be that the movie has entirely different characters, weapons, and backgrounds.
Alright on with the movie, the animation is choppy and really bad, at points it just looks like a 3 year old grabbed the mouse and placed random sprites across the screen, absolutely no thought put into it. The characters were walking statues firing guns, no definition of kickback whatsoever. The character was always leaned back in that exact same position, making me think that the body was converted all into one symbol and slid across the screen. Think about it this way, when you walk around, do you stay in the exact same uncomfortable leaned back state? I didn't think so. Also give the head a bit of a bounce on the walk cycles.
Ok moving on, I don't know what is up with this, but there are times when the character randomly teleports from one background to the other. That has to be one of the laziest things I have ever seen. You couldn't even animate the character SLIDING like a statue across the rest of the screen. That is really sad right there. Another common error among Madness movies, despite gunfire being heard in previous rooms, the guards are still completely oblivious to it, and just sorta stand there. Speaking of the guards, they just fucking stand there and die, you'd think they would at least try to live. Come on, your character (I use the word "your" very loosely) is fucking invincible, he just walks in and kills people with so fucking thought at all.
So more poorly animated killing occurs, then the movie just ends out of no where. Yeah, good going. I don't see how a movie of this exact proportion could have possibly taken more than a couple hours to make. Maybe you should try to spend a long time on a movie, adding loads of detail and smooth animation, drawing your own backgrounds and original characters, and thinking up a unique plot rather than just shitting out the exact same thing we saw not too long ago with animation barely improved at all from the last one.

Sifter1337 responds:

I didn't read them all, thanks anyway.

Um, wow.

Okay, I'm gonna be short and the good cop here so MAYBE YOU'LL READ MY COMMENT. Okay, first off, the animation was choppy, most of the character's stuff wasn't yours, and it was very lazily animated. Now, I'm not saying you don't have potential, because you do, you just need to spend more time on animation. You see, I can only assume you whipped this up in 1-2 days using about 600 keyframes, while a normal tributeshould take 4-7 months with around 6000-8000 keyframes. This may sound like a long time, but i can assure you it's for the best. As for the animation, use more keyframes(as said before) and ask someone to help. And finally, the characters. Using unoriginal stuff made by Krinkels in a collab part is fine, but when it comes to tributes, always be original and use your own stuff. Or, if someone is willing to, ask someone else if they can make characters for you. It's still original as long as it hasn't been seen on the internet yet.

Okay yes I got carried away and made it a bit long, but I strongly urge you to read my comment, cause remember, I'm being to good cop here.

Sifter1337 responds:

Yeah sure. This review wasn't spam now, yeah I was getting lazy playing Half-Life 2.

seriously

it is weird how people keep spamming, even thought ill admit this movie isn't very good, i couldn't even make better myself so im not bitching at it, just need a little improvement and more frames.

I suggest you stop being an asshole
