Uh oh...
First let me start off with the good. You had quite a smooth sprite fight going. Which is what I always look for in sprite animations. I can't stand it if there's jerky moves or frame rates that don't match actual fighting speeds or times.
However....
When you do a sprite fight between these two characters, it's always going to be compared with the epic MK vs SF 3 and that is going to almost always be a losing battle. I felt some of your moves were ripped off from that epic fight scene too. You can't get original in fights when the characters involved in the fights are almost exactly the same.
And also at certain times, the timing of your characters flying through the air when thrown did not match the speeds of the physics of the fight. You need to make sure they don't look like they're flying through the air in slo-mo while everything else is moving normally. A little unbalanced.
The green and blue 'sparks' that you used for each hit really did not match the entire thing at all. It felt really corny and childish. And it didn't fit with the sprites.
And a couple of small cheesy things that really didn't need to be there - the 'finish him' at the end. And the little smilies when Makoto arrived. That spoiled the entire mood for me.
I'm giving you score based on the smoothness of the animation. But this really isn't original and refreshing at all. And it lacked depth. Needs a lot more work.
