My ears feel like they were just tortured by your mids. And before you think I'm just some shit-talking dubstep hater, here, let me tell you why this song is bad.
You had a promising intro, which is where the half a star came from. That lasted for about two seconds. Then, you come in with the "bassline" which is really just a synthesizer that sounds like you literally groaned into a microphone, layered it, and chopped it up randomly throughout the song.
You wanna know why "bassline" is in quotations? I'll tell you why. I literally turned down the bass and found that it had almost no effect on the sound on the synths. The only thing that was lost in the song was the kick, and your kick was so pathetic that the impact of removing bass was almost zero. (I say "almost" because you have this really annoying, out of place reverberation following the kick.)
The song is so poorly equalized and mixed, I forgot I was listening to a Nyan Cat remix entirely. The original melody is lost in the horrible cacophony of mid-level groan-synths, snares, and bass reverberations. Need I remind you that "remixes" are not where you take a song, shit whatever you want all over it, and upload it. Also, need I remind you that bass is preferably present in a bass synth.
My final point is the choppiness of the song after the "bass drops." It's distracting. Horribly distracting. Almost every track present in this song is chopped, which makes following along with the song ridiculously difficult.
If there was ever a song I would use to torture a man, this would be it. Congratulations.
