I see that you put alot of effort into your art. Keep up the good work and your animations will improve. Story wise however there was no real reason why the Dot was failing so I felt no reason to want him to succeed. Perhaps he should be going after a cake or something and the elements keep getting in his way like with the balloons and the wind. Overall, good first submission don't feel discouraged or unmotivated.
Ah yes, I guess it had very little plot quality. Thanks for pointing that out.

Summary:
The animation was fluent and very good for your first submission but the idea is overdone and cliched. Normally this involves a lot of blood so I respect the fact that you tried to keep a different style of humor. I laughed a little bit on some parts but most of them are expected jokes. Despite it being a bit unoriginal the detail was refined, the animation was good, and you look like you have a lot in store for you in the future

Keep up the good work. I hope this helps you or at least make you think a little bit. I encourage you to keep animating. Though 6/10 may seem like a low score it's still a 3/5 which is good; better than I get.
Thanks for the in-depth response. And yes, it did help me think a little bit. I wasn't sure what to do for this first animation, so I grabbed a cliche idea and a basic character to start with. My plan was to build my skills until it became easier to make more unique and independent animations.
