Not horrible for your first game
Could use some more to it.......music does get very repetitive also if you hold the ctrl button it doesnt shoot

not a very good flash but i saw a medal or something come out of there when i got like 600 points

i looks good but you need to work on the code for shooting. make it where you can only shot one or many times. because if you try to shot more then once it gose back to the ship and the shot disappres
Collision detection
Ok so when making a game like this it all comes down to very accurate collision detection! It's something that will really annoy the users when its not done right ie: hitting the roof when theres a clear massive space between the roof and the ship.
Still its a good start and it would be nice if you expanded on it fully to develop a good in depth game. Keep your head up and keep trying
