The meaning of this is very interpretable so I will give my interpretation to this^^
I think it shows thw two sides in the World.There are always two extremes out there which both dont work out, so its like this riot that you have shown in the game. And the main guy always noticed that his former opinion was wrong soon after he convinced everybody to do what he wants. He is the only person there who thinks about this two extremes and always find something good in both of them. The other people are the masses who let themselves be influenced by the Guy. In the end that person realizes, that the sides are both wrong and that he has to find a solution with a mix of both of them thats gray.
But then he cant convince anyone because his words are not strong enough, because they are not extreme enough, to listen to them. And in the end the both sides battle eachother and the gray person cant do anything.
