Reviews for "Game & Watch: God of War"

Very enjoyable.

I remember when games used to be like this. I think I still have a few of them around somewhere and this definitely took me back to my youth.

I thought that it was too easy at first, but the difficulty soon picked up. I don't remember the games from my childhood starting out quite as simple as this one started, so perhaps you could make the minotaurs move a little faster at the beginning.

The first time I played this, due to the way the flash was presented with the game and watch on-screen, I thought the only way to move Kratos was to click the buttons with your cursor. It wasn't until I re-read your authors comments (this time paying more attention) that I realised you could use the left and right keys on your keyboard, so perhaps you could include some in-game instructions for those that jump straight in. I'm sure this game would be absolutely amazing for those that have a touch-screen monitor.

In both modes the game seemed to get a lot easier around the 40 kills mark. At this point instead of there being more than one minotaur on-screen at a time, there was only the one (this lasted until the high 40s). I'm not sure if this was intentional for whatever reason or if I've encountered a minor glitch.

It was definitely great to see these kind of games recreated in flash and I'm pleased that you decided to come up with your own game instead of simply re-making an already existing one.

Thanks for the feedback and the great review!

Those are some really good tips, I'll take them all into account, much appreciated :) As for the 40 kills mark, I slow it down for the next 10 points because at 50 I unleash Minotaur destruction, so I figured it'd be nice to give the player a bit of a calm before the storm. ;)

Actually brings back memories!

My dad had one of those things! I never realized until now that it was a game and watch! I need to ask him if he still has it!
Also, the game's fun, but that's one hell of a difficulty curve.

nice

is really good

Score - 138 :)

The B game was some amazing experience, I really enjoyed it. Great job once again!

Thanks man! Good score! :)

My Dear God (of War)

I loved your first G&W game, Dodgeman; it was extremely well done, and faithful to the look and feel of the 'genre'. Vermin was always my favorite, and I played it endlessly on the G&W for Game Boy, hence my request for an online version. ;-)

I know that you said that you would see what you could do, but boy, oh boy, did you deliver! Here I am expecting moles and mallets... silly me. I got minotaurs and chaos blades!! This game is absolutely phenomenal and encapsulates the frantic insanity of the original. I was fiendishly excited just to see that 1) it was made (for me!) and 2) it was God of War style. But to fail and have a minotaur pop out of the ground and rape my face was super-icing on an already scrumtrulescent cake of awesome.

Superb recreation of a classic. I love this, and will be playing it whenever I have free time. Thank you so much for this!

I've never had a game called "scrumtrulescent" before! Best. Review. Ever. :)
