Reviews for "Stamper's Quest For Fags"

Incredibly terrible.

I'm not gonna split hairs with you here, this game is bad in every way, shape and form.

The health packs, cigarettes and bees are floating backwards. This is the only explanation as to why they are moving so much slower than the (stationary) cacti.

In order to avoid the cacti, you have to be on the far left side of the screen and hit the jump button as soon as they appear on the right side. This effectively negates your ability to move left and right as if you try it, you take damage from every single cactus since you can't get out of the way in time.

Very frequently (even on easy mode) I ran into situations where a bee and a cactus formed an impenetrable wall that was impossible to avoid. If I was high enough on the screen to avoid the cactus I was too high to avoid the bee and vice versa. It's never a good thing to place the player in a situation like that.

Pick ups and bees spawned below the ground, out of the player's reach.

In conclusion, this is a game where, if everything were done perfectly, would have the potential to be a minor amusement for a few minutes. Along the way a large number of negative aspects were introduced, thus the minor amusement is transformed into a nuisance that just isn't fun.

Ways to improve:
-change cactus speed to match bees and pickups
-avoid situations where the player can't help but take damage (bee right above cactus, player jumped to collect pickup and hazard enters the screen in their path, etc)
-I'd also suggest reducing the height of the player, this would allow them to fit between bees and cacti (as long as the player can always get in between them or over the set it'd be all good).
-It would probably also be a good idea to reduce the speed of pretty much everything by a factor of 2 or more. Make the player feel maneuverable rather than helpless to what comes into the screen.
