Try making the timing hard. Maybe you can make it in a way you need to shoot in a short moment to save your live. and even better if you get a highscore with that. I like the styles of the 2 guys and dislike how the grass floats if you know what i mean. And try to come up with a fun name for your game:).

to start with if you press space multiple times it restarts the killing over and over, maybe you should fix that first.

i didnt really like it, but yes it is a goood idea and i think you should make another one better longer and cooler graphics :)
