Reviews for "Cogitate"

Hmm.

Challenging but so damn nitpicky. Auto-alignment of gears would be nice.

Puzzles are a little arbitrary. It's a good game, just... feels more like work than game.

Also, the BGM got annoying two minutes in.

Too buggy; couldn't complete.

I was playing level four when the game went haywire. The screen glitched out for a few seconds and then the game was suddenly on a different level. Also, the solutions wouldn't show--all I got was a progress bar that idled forever.

The physics were awfully suspect in this game: Often, the golden gear would be rotating in one direction in the air, but the instant it hit the ground it'd start rotating in the opposite direction.

Forcing the user to make gears mesh perfectly was a bad move. Would it have really been so hard to have the computer to take care of trivial crap like that? Or better yet, how about if the gears are touching, they're just assumed to mesh? Who wants to sit around diddling with pixels?

The dialog box that popped up after every level begging me to register was really annoying, too.

ummmmmm.

i couldnt even get the first level its f@!#$&% hard

Ugh.

I'm giving you four stars for your creativity and art. Other than that, this game sucks. It's not for normal people, it's for a physics wiz. The instructions are really not too clear, and I couldn't even figure out how to get past the second level. The game doesn't introduce you gradually, like most. It throws you in a migrane inducing enviroment and for all I know it keeps getting harder.

This isn't the kind of game to appeal to the masses at all. It's too brainy, the answers way too hard to just work out.

My advice would be to go gradually, introduce the parts seperately, and show how they interlock and work together. The creator assumes right off that the player knows how to work the pieces and knows how to use them well.

This could have been a great game, you'll never get people to like it if they can't understand how to play.

Bad presentation

It had that odd feel, it was not a intimate game, it felt really... commercial.. all the blank screens, too much text that had nothing to do with the game, and as mentionned below, instructions are far too complicated... it seemed to be a good puzzle, but not awesome, sorry.
