Stylish, but stiff
This looks like a great base for a game, but you need to fix the control. Moving this guy around feels very awkward, as I can't attack in the air or right after he lands. Also, his jump is delayed, which would make it very annoying to dodge enemies and enemy projectiles if this were a full game. Even the attack feels slow, as after attacking, I can't immediately attack again. That swinging-down move would be great as a heavy attack, but as an all-purpose move, I suggest something a LOT quicker.
Other than that, this looks like a good engine, and the graphics ae phenomenal. Just fix the stiff controls, and you'll be golden.
