Great potential.
This game itself, doesn't deserve higher than a 5, but seeing how you stated it was an "experimental game" I'll ignore that fact.
Now, if you put a lot more time into this, and made it a full game, (much longer of course,) this has great potential to be one of the best puzzle game types.
I see virtually unlimited ways to build and solve puzzles using this type of gameplay.
Make a real game, full length and all, and I'll play it and give you a proper review then.
