Reviews for "The Woes of Marsh"

Genial!!

I thought this video was pretty good. Some parts still could have been better, I liked the audio and the animations in this video a lot. But the sound could be a little better.

Some strong and some weak points

I can only partially agree with the reviewers below and I think some of them judged too headily.
Sure, the story is confusing and you can't put all actions in a logical order. But I'm quite sure this is done on purpose, as the boarders between reality and fiction blur both for the main character and the viewer. We are moving somewehere between dream and reality, why should there be a clear order? And that the clown has no motivation to hunt the boy is also a bad argument. Villains in horror scenarios never have a serious point why they are doing all the evil stuff. If you desperately need a motivation, let it be that the clown is hungry or that he once was a good clown till someone killed his parents or some other random crap. This surely isn't important here.
I appreciate the author's sense for composition and arrangement of moving pcitures. The cuts where nice and the perspectives as well. There is a dense atmosphere and this is one of the most important points in a flash movie like this.
The only big deficit I see are the graphics. The drawing style is just OK and could need more details. It is very simple and makes the whole thing slightly worse.

Confused

Like HexWasabe said, you covered the message with garbage, he's right. He gets a book to get away from the monsters, but it doesn't work, and then he wakes up in a classroom wich wasn't a classroom and there's that jester from the poster wich has no reason nor motivation to hunt the little kid and this girl pops out of nowhere, then that thing pops open and the clown is gone.

Overal a 8 for the animation and what should've been the story, but -2 for the confusing elements and lack of sound.

I pretty much agree with HexWasabe

bah

The only redeeming factore is the motivational poster in the classroom. All of the themes are waaaaaay mixed up or just plain improperly presented and with the level of flash animation that generally gets front page I have no idea why this made the cut. Maybe some people see it as "artsy", but that is the same kind of garbage that so many so called "independant" artists try to pull. There is a message in there but it is to covered in garbage to see.

Good stuff

Yeah, I have my share of mind-ghosts too, you either learn to live with em, or you go crazy (not sure which one I've chosen :P )

Anyway, decent graphics, sound could have been a little better, very good storyline. All in all you get a 7 :)
