I really admire this work. It's very beautiful AND it has such smooth colors. You really do break the piece up into interesting shapes that fit nicely together. :D
Really good painting, reminds me of something from the Renaissance or near that area. Great job!
All this is more my opinion than a critic.
First of all.. that's a girl ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) i can see it thanks to her: shoulder sizes, lip's natural color, nose bridge, cheek bones, eye browns... --damn! this is so beautiful ;3
It's almost a master piece; just make more hyper realistic the details of everything that is not the painting, so it will look more appealing, and i think it will give the right message ;B; which i think that is:
A male or female painter that portraits it self being something that SHE want to LOOK or HE thinks he looks like; but just for his/her sake. So he/she creates a alternate reality of him/she pretending to be (the other sex).
The interpretation that i get from title is: that he/she studies [the alternate of being...]. And with <boy with hat> with the " " i get that the hat represents some type of old worker's hat [that maybe is from his father], and he/she want to follow his footsteps, but he/she feels too delicate for that "job" so he/she reflects and studies from it.
