Reviews for "Fairy's Fountain Loop"

Mmm, so soothing to the soul! Much like the Scott Pilgrim version is, but I actually like this one more. It sounds so pure! I think you should make an album of various Ocarina of Time songs involving them off the heezy vocals of yours. It would be so awesome.

VGSongbird responds:

LOL I would love to. Just don't have the rights. Darn ^_^

Pretty awesome, as usual. Definitely has that dream like feel you were going for, thanks to the vocals. The main synth however, I'm not so sure really blends as well and I think takes away from the dreamlike feel a bit. The atmosphere you create with the other instruments combined with the far off, soothing vocals definitely saves the dreamy feeling though, despite the powerful presence of the synth. Would have reviewed this sooner, but my computer was out of commission for a long time until recently. Was nice to come back to find something new from you :)

VGSongbird responds:

That's alright. I always appreciate your feedback ;)

Gave me shivers Alisa :) absolutely fantastic! Keep up the amazing work :D hope you feel better soon <3

^_^ Thanks, Ben

This is really, really good! Seems like a mix of old and new- the synth sounds like it could be made with a game boy, and the rest of the instruments sound straight out of a movie/game. The dream-like theme defiantly comes through, particually in the singer, the piano (I think that's what it is) and the general ambient strings. Personally, the drum track doesn't do it for me- it breaks the dream like feel, and the sound of them is very familiar which is never too good. Maybe some effects would improve them a bit and make them fit into the song a little more- reverb, echo, highpass/lowpass?

I won't let preference get in the way of a review however. Very nice work here indeed- does exactly what the description says it will. What more could you want?

VGSongbird responds:

:) Lol well, even though it wasn't quite what you wanted, I'm glad you at least liked it a little.

Pardon my criticism, I am not trying to be rude... just merely pointing out what [I think] you could do better. (After all, isn't that what a review is?) I admit that the beginning was a little hard for me to listen to... you definitely surprised me the moment the song started. I was not expecting the style you used. Firstly, the main synth is a bit overpowering and at times seems to drown out the other instruments. Secondly, the synth gets old... pretty quickly. I love how you made the song, I just do not think I would be able to listen to it on loop for an extended period of time. Lastly, the part where it loops is quite noticeable. Now, with the constructive criticism being said, your voice is absolutely beautiful. It blends very nicely with the rest of the instruments. The sound of the harp is lovely and the sound quality is good. I have always loved the music from the Zelda games and the feelings they give the listener. You managed to capture the calm and soothing feeling the song emits even though you brought in a synth and drums. That is a pretty hard feat to accomplish, methinks. I am a big fan of your music and I look forward to hearing more from you! Keep up the fabulous work, my friend!

Thanks for your well thought review!
