Was that it?
Well to be quite honest, the concept that such a movie has gained such a fervor of praise is quite beyond me. It's not bad at all, rather its nowhere near what I would expect for such an over-whelmingly high rating. I guess I can't quite get mad at the author for this, rather poor general interest.
But let me go back on topic. The movie is suprisingly short (a godsend in hindsight) simple. A plain joke on the mechanics of the mario games, with the punchline being "BUT IN REAL LIFE, THEY DON"T DO THAAAAAAT!!!!". Its not a truely bad concept, and from the icon I thought this may be asthetically pleasing, but rather it looks sloppy and tweened even when fully drawn. The perspectives were nice but I didn't really feel they were properly worked.
I feel you're on to something, yet continuing video game jokes will not help you get there. I would start by drawing objects in real life setting, and practicing anatomy, then working on drawing movement. Basic but essential if you would want to improve.
So in summary, I liked it to an extent but was disgusted by how little proper critique I felt this was recieving.
