Reviews for "Dragon Ball z Rpg Pt.1"

good

good but not like gba game of dbz...

My entire reveiw:

Gameplay: 4/10
You really do need to add a part where you can actually MOVE your characters instead doing nothing but continuous fights. If you have ever played the old DBZ RPGs for the Gameboy, you would know what I'm talking about. Otherwise good.

=====================================
Battle System: 7/10
Very good turn, based system. Only two problems I have come across so far:
1. The opponent continues to attack you even after his/her life is below 0.
2. If a power-up counts the same as a turn, shouldn't using a life bottle also count as a turn.
=====================================
=====================================
Game Graphics: 5/10
It's an okay submission considering it's a sprite game, but at least make sure it flows well. I.E. Take the Gohan/Piccillo fight. Whenever Piccillo did a punching move, his arm extened like three feet from his body. Also when Piccillo does that flying attack, it never shows them touching ground. Just Piccillo hitting Gohan, and them appearing where they were. Please fix this in the next game.

=====================================
Storyline: 0/10
Considering it's a storyline that is set in stone, the least you can do is watch the show and get the lines down perfectly. Also, when you use this type of storyline, show every part possible. For example, if I did not know the show before-hand I would not understand how Gohan appeared out of the pit when he was on the island. Finnally, If you do a part with a flashback, please SHOW the flashback instead of having someone talk about it.
=====================================
=====================================
Timing: Short
There really isn't much substance to the game besides two fights and long cutscenes. No, not even cutscenes, just alot of talking. Makes me feel like I'm watching it more than playing it.
=====================================
=====================================
Replay Value: Low
No real reason to play it twice. You say RPG, but it really is just a movie. Have an ability, like I said earlier, to walk around the world, buy things, set up a monetary system, etc. in the next game.

Overall: 4/10 2/5
In this game you compressed about ten or twelve episodes of Dragon Ball Z into a three/four minute game. I appreciate you trying to cut down on the talking, but most of it is giving background on what the story is about.

Recommend to others? No
Why? Because it's a short game, and I would not waste my friend's time with this.

no no no no no no

bad and thts all there is to it...

Promising

The story was reenacted well, the graphics were mostly ok but there were some parts in the fighting scenes (such as raditz's energy attacks) which did not look quite right. The combat system has few faults, I myself found the fight with raditz too difficult and the fight with piccolo too easy so you may want to balance the enemy's strength a bit more. Overall I liked this game and wish you luck on your further installments in the series.

needs some work

could really really do with more explanation, i have read the books a couple of times and i had no idea what was going on, make it clear how the fighting works (give some data about the various attacks etc)
