Pretty sharp game

I love Tyrian to death, so any homage to it is fine (after all, the Metal Slug clones consistently get good scores). This is a really good games with very nice graphics, gameplay, and a reasonable story too (something you don't see often in arcade-esque games.)

Some points to note
-A difficulty option; it does start off a bit harsh, but after the first level with a few upgrades and getting used to patterns, it gets much much easier (the irony of the first level being the hardest).
-Passwords; pasting code is annoying, I had to cut and paste something else and lost the HTML to return where I was.
-Higher Gem Spawning; gems are a bit short to come by, I'd like to be at or near full upgrades by the end of the game. I felt like I had barely gotten anything by the time I was in the final stage.
-Upgrades; I'd like to see more variety in the menu, perhaps alternate weapons to switch to for more strategy. While I do enjoy the classic, basic weaponry as opposed to the "giant lasers that rip apart half of the screen", most would enjoy some upgrades to lean towards those huge weapons later on in the game at least.

All in all, a great game with a lot of good points and just a few things that could make a sequel potentially one of the best vertical shooters around. Kudos again and I hope to see more from you in the future.

A must-play for SHMUP fans!

Absolutely phenomenal Flash game. Anyone who gives this less than a 9 has no idea the difference between a good SHMUP and a crappy one.

Incredible 3d graphics, excellent presentation, great music, tight controls, and well-designed levels/bosses that can seriously be put into a retail title. To be frank, this is ridiculously well made flash game and it's a complete steal that it's here to play for free.

Fans of Ikaruga, Gradius, etc. will be completely at home here, and will love every minute of it. And like a true SHMUP, nubs will get pwned and probably won't make it far before giving up.

Thanks a lot for your review :D I'm really happy that you liked my game so much :)

Stay tuned for the sequel, I've learned a lot from the feedback I received here so the sequel will be much better :)

Close to ripped.

This was utterly close to ripping off Tyrian, a pretty much same gameplay and even most of the ground enemies and how they were destroyed were the same.

Just Awesome!!

Great game I just love it
the graphics were ok and the stages backgrounds some were pretty cool
the music in the game were just great and it's from NG! (maybe you should put the links if you find time for that.
The upgrading system was great but maybe more crystals should make better the game so you can get more upgrades in all the game (I also killed every enemy in the stage but I get very few crystals for my upgrades)
more stages could even improve the game and the difficulty should be higher
I expect in the next one:
-better graphics
-music the same of great
-more enemy types
-more stages
-more challenging bosses
-more upgrades or crystals

Overall was great but you can make it a lot better with little improvements :)
I can't understand people that don't like it they must be insane
I hope to see your next works daily feature too
keep the great work

9/10 5/5

Wish is could have been a bit more 3D

This game was awesome! But I wish it were more 3D, like panning the camera a bit to make it seem like the ships are headed at you rather than down the screen.

Also, the action button instructions were OK for me (after all, I have an IQ of 135) but they may be confusing for other people who are not good at reading in every direction. I figure if you placed the buttons to each left and right it would be more understandable. But that is only for good service to others.

I liked the music and am curious where to get it. I want it on my Walkman RIGHT NOW!!!! (No, that's not a direct order, but it is to the control unit in the back of my brain (Hippocampus, I suppose?) so you don't have to follow it, just tell me where to find the music, that's all!)

I love any game that involves warfare, since the command of men in battle is what makes our greatest, most heroic history makers so great.

(I wonder if there can ever be greatness for the publisher of a fledgling newspaper/newsblog like myself???)

So I love your game but I have to hold back on one point due to the maybe confusing to others controls...
