Reviews for "Fear Unlimited Arena"

Dull and unoriginal

It was kind of boring, the combat needs to have some combos or something, not just hammer on the same button until the enemy dies, it also wouldn't hurt to have some sound effects for hitting things with the sword. It's based way to heavily on devil may cry, I mean at first I just thought it was similiar with the character looking like dante, but demons, sword and gun combat, and then even changing into a demon? totally unoriginal, the upgrade system seemed very in depth though, but it still reminded me of the one in devil may cry. :/

well..

There are a few glitches that should be worked out...
It got really repetitive, and the enemies take way to long to kill, and your to easy to kill. Also, it's basically a rip off of Devil May Cry

what hisuke said

its a pretty good game, but it has the same gameplay and looks like devil may cry.
also, if I had 2 mac10s, i would just HOLD the trigger to release auto fire instead of randomly single shooting.
also also, if you had a shotgun you didnt even have to FACE your enemy to hit them.

Boring

Boring DMC clone. Animation is jerky, gameplay repetative.

okay, we get it, you like DMC.

Okay, I hate to crap on people's hard work but this is just not doing it for me here. Honestly, you had like what... 4 or 5 versions of this game? You really should be able to get this right by now. For one, it's the same game as the previous fears except stat tweaks, some graphics upgrade, and much shoddier controls and balance.

The one good thing you did was add boss battles into it so that there is more variety but even that implementation kind of fell flat.

- controls just don't handle well. For one, you can't turn around in mid air just to face another direction. In fact, you can't seem to do that when you're on the ground standing either. (that is, until you've completely returned to neutral position. And by that point, you're already getting smacked around by the little minions since they WILL surround you.

- guns, while nifty to look at, are just not effective enough to warrant usage.

- combo or "style" ranking is once again basically how many hit combo can you muster up. Okay, fine, that's the convention, stick with it. But when you're constantly being sandwiched by minions and your ability to adjust your positioning to deal with them is so severely hampered, you're basically just hoping that you get lucky and they don't smack you out of your combo.

- boss characters while visually interesting they don't actually do an awful lot. They beat the crap out of you and are certainly very difficult, but they aren't even fun to watch when they do that.

- The difficulty on this game is fairly high because of the issues I've listed above. And quite frankly, after dying for the 4th time without really getting anywhere, I just gave up.

- Jewel drop acts funny and you can't pick it up until it has completely stopped moving. Most of the time, they fade or fall out of the screen before that happens.

- It is probably not fair to say but, honestly I think you could have done so much more with this game. But instead, this is basically another clone of your previous work, and an inferior one at that. If this was a first step work, great, good job so far. but knowing that you've already done a bunch of other much better versions of this game prior, I just find this one rather disappointing.
