Nice idea and good innovation, BUT...
First off, well done. I enjoyed playing it, it had good everything basically. Nicely done on all fronts. It's good to see a defence AND attack game, like Command and Conquer, on here. Also, it's blooming HUGE, with a story mode, sandbox mode, conquest mode, more modes than you could shake a stick at. It had some decent music on too, which was very nice and suited the feel of a strategy fighting game very well.
The AI control of your own troops was a nice touch, giving them preset 'moods' if you will. That's a very good innovation and I liked it a lot, it was fun to play about with those behaviour controls and issuing orders without having to do very much.
But, that very AI control is a problem that manifests itself in many ways.
Firstly, it's really only good if you want your people to just hang around and not do very much, just defending your base, but kinda patrolling at the same time.
But, it only allows very vague orders to be executed. You can't tell people to attack a specific building or unit or go to a certain location. This leads to attacking being very difficult, as your units wander slightly aimlessly into the middle of the enemy's base instead of attacking the outskirts first, and then moving in. Which all leads to attacks being hap-hazard and disorganised and you are unable to concentrate fire-power on anything.
Another annoyance was that you couldn't select multiple units from different unit types, say some troops and a tank or something, but leaving the rest of your troops and tanks alone. Whilst this doesn't serve any point in the game as it stands, (because you can't tell them to do any thing) if you were to put in a facility to directly control your units, it would really help.
The vague nature of attacking in this game also leads to attacks taking a much longer time than they should, making everything drag out for a VERY long time. If this mechanic was stuck in, the game would vastly improve, on what is already a very good game.
Overall, it was a good game, but I can't score you higher because of that one problem. Which, although doesn't seem like much on the surface, it's got some serious implications which really detract from the game.
