Excuse me while I find my jaw.

I never really did much with my newgrounds account. I'd throw out blams and five stars to all I'd ever watch. blam if I didn't like it, a "5" if I did. And then I finally just stopped logging in, watched the daily front pagers and move on with my internet browsing.

But, this animation has reminded me of the amazing things people can do. I absolutely loved this, and have certainly set the bar for the "5 vote" and the 10 star review.

My only concern now is that I can probably never hand out a 10 star review ever again.

Please keep up the amazing work, I'm absolutely dying to see more of it.

this is one of my favorite old stories and the subtleness of the work says so much and so little at the same time. good job man. love it.

sooooo well done, but....what?

it is obvious that there was a lot of skill and time put into this. visually this was definitely television worthy.

but.....what. i don't get it. i have a vague memory of what the pied piper is, and this flash did NOTHING to help me remember the story. according to this flash, some piper plays his pipe, kills all the rats, plays his pipe again, and all the children die. seems like a really cruddy story.

i'm betting that you made this for people who already knew the folk story of the piper, but for people like me, this is just a really good looking piece of nothing.

Well if you read my description you'd understand that this isn't a narration of the story. Like I said: "When watching this animation, please keep an open mind. I realize that this is not a direct narration of the Pied Piper, and that is the point. It's supposed to be an experimental interpretation to convey the dark and eerie mood of the Pied Piper."

So yes, in a way I suppose it is for the people that understand the story, but I feel like the animation would lose a lot of appeal if it was literally trying to retell the story, because that isn't the point. I'm just trying to convey the tone of the story within this animation. I hope that makes sense. I'm glad you thought it looked good though.
