Pleasantly surprised.
I really thought I'd be x'ing this out after the intro but it turned out well. Something I'd suggest you improve on that'll have a nice effect on your future projects in balancing subtlety all around. Example is the transition of focus points in the scene where the phone was playing and the transition from the character to the phone happened so suddenly it just looked like you blurred the phone in one frame and made it clear in the next. An other thing that just felt odd was the voice acting of the girl on the answering machine. She sounded a little to concerned and the fluctuation in her voice just didn't fit. Only reason I'm criticizing these things is because of the ambiance and overall tone you're trying to put together. When subtlety is the emphasis on a scene or project subtle mistakes or fluctuations stick out and disturb the mood.
I really enjoyed the production value of this flash and regardless of art I think you have translated the mood of the story really well. Just careful when trying to mix drama and subtlety, it can be tricky.
