With most hand guns, shooting a mk2 fragmentation hand grenade (the grenade shown in the game and most commonly depicted hand grenade) and causing an explosion just isn't going to happen, unless someone is wearing it with that strap thing, then if you shoot the middle of the strap the pin will be pulled and the handle will not be held down causing the grenade to be ready to explode and the dudes got exactley four or five seconds to get the hell out of the way and find cover. A frag grenade has exactly 4 or 5 seconds till explosion starting imediatly after the handle is released when the pin has been pulled. But you'd have to be a perfict marksman to be able to shoot it in the right spot while behind cover and far enough away.
