Good fun. Solid premise.
Not really bringing anything new here, it's fun, a little short, but that's easily forgiven when you're not being paid. :p
Could be a bit harder, I was level five after the second level.
On that note, why does the level icon say out of 8 when there are nine xp levels?
Anyway, good stuff. My favorite part was the ending, almost as if he were saying
"Get offa my lawn! Crazy...punk...kids"

-When I went to refinished stage 2 with nearly full exp to level 8, I ended up leveling up at the start of stage 3
-When leveled up to the additional level 9, you should eliminate the experience bar, or make more upgrades, which I find is plenty.
-The nice ripple effects slows down the game a little, maybe have an image quality changing button.

BEFORE READING, IF THERE WAS A BLACK DRILL AT LEVEL 8 THEN NEVER MIND
-I think that when I leveled up to level 9 the drill became black from white (or not), but when I died at the same stage I became level 9, I redid the stage and started of with a black drill with the level 8 upgrade.

Good for just a 10-15 minute flash game.
