The Portal reference was got by *many* people. About 50/50 love it and hate it. Some say Portal is an overused meme. Some find that they've been reminded of the great time they had with Portal in the first place.
I thought it a suitable homage as Portal's design and in-game commentary have been a great inspiration to me personally. Likewise with the World of Goo references.

the reason i gave it a nine is because i really liked the mechanics of the game (epically the wench very well done) but the corny music playing on every single level drove me to the brink of insanity....very good game other than that.

If there's one thing I've learned from this game, it's how commonly people misspell winch!
Winch: A rope device used to hoist or haul.
Wrench: Tool for turning nuts and bolts.
Wench: Peasant or serving girl. Often feisty!
