Reviews for "Alphie's story"

pretty good

I liked the animation, however, the story and dialogue went by way to fast. I couldn't keep up with that and thats the only reason why not a 10/10

Nice.

Mostly liked it. Awesome animations, and decent storyline.

But the weapons sound effects suck! Most of the other sound effects were ok, but the weapons.... Splooge! Pew-pew! Tetetet! I'm sure you could find better out there.

Also, the dates.... Ok, "Apocalypse" 3-4 years from now. Fine. Lunar base, 4-5 years from now with totally re-designed spacecraft (and this with "Apocalypse" occurring within that time span)? Um... Big stretch...

Re-colonization efforts 1 year after "Apocalypse"? Right... I guess "Apocalypse" isn't as bad as I thought.

The rest of the stuff 50 years later... Ok, that's fine. But after the escape, an 800 year skip? What's that about?

It might have worked better if you started in the 2853 future and flashbacked to the other stuff, ala Highlander style.

vezanmatics responds:

decent review...
did you read the author's comments?
The Mayans and several other cultures predict an apocalypse or some other world-changing event will occur on December 21, 2012, the worryingly near future. If nothing happens, rejoice. But in the story, NASA had organized a "fall-out shelter" under Lunar Farside so no one suspects something bad is happening. After the apocalypse, there is no background radiation, only extreme climate change in which Antarctica is now temperate. Besides, the apocalypse was nothing but a natural phenomenon scheduled to happen 4 years from now in which Earth aligns with the sun and the center of the galaxy, causing a planetary cataclysm. The moon will not be affected by said cataclysm. I've done my research.

The 800 year jump... why not? It's cool. It's a very twisted story anyway and it's the year in which most of the events in Cyborgkid 2853 take place.

And the weapon effects were bad, even I have to admit, but they were the only SFX i could find that matched what i had in mind.

Nice...But seemed rushed...

The animation was probably an 8/10
Story 10/10
This is awesome but work on animation its not very realistic just make fluid movements lol

Nice

Cool Story

It's not bad but I wouldn't have understood it if i didn't read your comment about it. The animations were a little too fast and hyper to really get an understanding of what was going on. Which isn't always a bad think when you're just showing random violence but isn't the best when you're trying to portray a story .

vezanmatics responds:

alright thanx,
i know what you mean.
however, i did say that in some parts the animation is highly processor-intensive and tends to "jump" a lot, so don't try to blame the animator.
