My, my, it's been a while.
I haven't actually written a review in quite a long time, but I felt this one was important.
First off, I would like to thank you for making the brave step to decide to do something different for the season. While I respect and love traditional Halloween tricks such as scary movies and jokes, it's always nice to have a sweet treat once in a while.
The movie was beautiful, in a cartoony-creepy way vaguely reminiscent of Tim Burton's earlier work. The animation was perfectly fitting for the topic; a kind of lopsided surrealism with nicely exaggerated--almost grotesquely pretty--features and motions that take a fair amount of mastery or talent for the artist to blend together and have a result as visually charming as this. The only dispute I could make was a few scenes where you seemed to drop some attention to background detail, but this was very minor and these instances were few and far between.
The music flowed wonderfully with the animation and expressed a nice, gentle feeling that contrasts sharply with the harsh, needy attitude of the modern society. Your video matched that feeling perfectly, returning my mind to a period of soft, sweet innocence that was oh so pleasant to feel returning.
The most important thing about art is that it flow into the human perceptions, not force its way in with loud sounds or colors. You, my friend, have done extremely well in this aspect, as well as in capturing the mental aspect of innocent happiness that we all felt at one time or another. Keep up the good work, thank you for returning my interest in critiquing, and thank you for this beautiful submission.
