Reviews for "Defcon Zero [Orch] -MrMaestro-"

Even if you don't respond...

Nice piece of work dude! I love the orchestrated way! The originality kills but the quality of this is just magnificent! I can tell you put much effort into this song! I'd rather listen to this remade version than the original. The original is old and repetative...(sigh). I just find the original version typical, but this is a magnificent piece of work!I V5'ed it!

Thanks for the review!

Yea, when you remix a piece it can be hard to make it really original, I tried to make it as different as I could but still retain the Defcon Zero theme.

Thanks for the support!

Awesome

Right when the melody came in, I new it was one of the best remixes of one of Paragon's mixes yet. Although I 'hope' this is a demo, because there are some flaws. Like their should be some heart pounding drums in there, it should be longer.... Thats about it.

I wasn't liking it all too much until the actual melody came in, a good way to get people entertained before that is some pretty good drums. You can go the direction of Rob D. and add some distorted drums (but not loud) or you can go over to Edgen andget those kind of drums. Either one would work.

Other then all of this stuff I am rambling on about, this is a definite good remix of Defcon Zero, one of the best.

Well-done!

Very nice! I like the retrofitting you did to shape the Defcon Zero melody into a totally different fabric. The opening material naturally leads to the Defcon Zero melody---very well done. The piano in the background keeps the ticking. It's interesting that you used the V7/vi (dominant of the related minor) harmony on the minor seventh jump in the melody rather than the original III harmony (located at 0:55-0:57 and 1:15-1:18); however, be careful when you introduce the raised seventh on the flute (at 1:15-1:18): a move from the flat seventh into the raised seventh is noticeably awkward. The piece is of very high quality overall.

Thanks for the piece!

P.S. Do show us your classical collection of sonatas and rondos. A sizeable number of Newgrounders are familiar with and interested in the exposition-development-recapitulation form that is the sonata-allegro. ;)

Eventually I may put up some recordings of a chamber group I'm putting together playing my songs. They're really good musicians, so it should sound pretty good if I can get a hold of some nice mics!

damn good

i think it can be played a teeny weeny bit faster, but that's just my opinion.
can't wait for more!

this is a nice remake.

it sounds like a piece they would use for something like SaGa Frontier.
