Reviews for "Ill Fate: Ep. 1"

Bravo on ur return with a smash hit

Congratulations on returning with a great flash, some of it was funny (hopefully that was ur goal) and some of it dark and misterious, the animation was smooth and the sound was beautiful, amazing music and even though they talked in some weird voices i could understand every word. uve made my day

good animation but...

I very much liked the style and flow of the animation, as well as the character design. However, I disliked the storyline and voices. The german accents came off as cheesy. The characters sounded as though they were in a Speed Racer cartoon, since they talked really fast to explain a plot that wasn't really coherant to start with.
Taking into consideration the purpose of this flash(for some contest on Deviantart), I don't see why there couldn't have been a a wall of text(like in Star Wars), at the beginning, or perhaps a narrator(like in Speed Racer) to fill us in on the gaps.
On a final note, I was wondering if you read any "Myth" books by Robert Aspirin. As they also included a world with multiple dimensions. Or perhaps some of the Gorean books(which also include dimensional travel).

professor-fate responds:

FYI, none of these accents are supposed to be German. XD
Igor is Easter European, like his name, for a start.

You've gotta Pitch this idea!

It pulled me in with much interest from the intensity of the suspense.

i ended up watching it TWICE just to capture the smoothness of the animation, the brilliant capture of the voice acting and sound effects, and the dramatic color that makes this short...yet amazing film a complete joy to watch.

Oh the suspense is killing me!

What is to become of this "mad-man" Kaiser who is the only lead to the progression of the story.

After you two made the incredibly thought-provoking film "Engineered". I was sure you two would already land jobs in the professional animation business.

I am glad you decided to make a "suspenseful" series! I'm sure this would make a great movie if done with "real" actors.

Hell-Boy 2 had all the special effects...and the cool stunts...but a very "bland" story.

I feel that with that exact same budget for special effects and CG. You could make this movie WAY better in the genre of fantasty/sci-fi.

Good Luck! And I look forward to whatever you two Blokes come up with next!
